Brazilian fixed income is available to all ARQ users with tax residency in Brazil. If you're not a Brazilian tax resident, these assets won't be available to you.
To invest, you need a Brazilian investment account. This is a one-time setup on top of your regular ARQ signup: you'll be asked for some additional information, and once it's done you won't need to do it again.
You can start by tapping the Buy button on any fixed income asset.
Before you start: turn off BC+
BC+ (BC Protege+) is a Central Bank of Brazil feature that blocks new relationships with financial institutions in your name. It's a security tool, but while it's active we can't open your investment account — so you'll need to turn it off before you start. You can turn it back on afterwards. To deactivate it:
Log in to your Gov.br account. It must be at Silver or Gold level, with two-step verification active.
In the side menu or on the main page, select BC PROTEGE+.
Go to Accounts – opening and inclusion and deactivate the protection.
Choose how long the protection stays off — up to 30 days, or a specific period — and confirm.
What information is required?
These requirements are set by the CVM, the Brazilian securities regulator:
Identity verification (ID document and selfie)
Place of birth
Your mother's full name
If employed, your employer's CNPJ — this is easy to find online
If married, your spouse's name and CPF
You'll also answer a short suitability questionnaire. If an asset's risk is above your profile, we'll show a pop-up explaining the risks involved before you confirm — but you can still continue.
The questionnaire never restricts which assets are available to you.
How long does it take?
Once you've submitted everything, activation usually takes a few minutes, and up to one business day at most. If your account is still under review after one business day, contact support.
