A Bre-B key is a personal identifier used to send and receive money via the Bre-B system, Colombia's instant payment network operated by Banco de la República. With ARQ, your Bre-B key is a unique alphanumeric code prefixed with @ARQ (for example @ARQ1234).
Note: Bre-B is currently being rolled out gradually. If it’s not yet available in your app, it will be coming soon.
How to register your Bre-B key
Open the app and go to the Receive tab.
Select "🇨🇴Pesos".
On the How do you want to add balance? screen, tap Bre-B.
Tap Get started on the intro screen.
Choose one of the suggested Bre-B keys.
Tap Confirm Bre-B key. Each ARQ account can have only one Bre-B key, and once created it cannot be changed.
Wait a few seconds while ARQ creates your key, then choose your exchange currency (USDc or EURc) — the currency incoming COP transfers will automatically be converted into.
You can update your exchange currency later by tapping ⋮ (the three dots) on the top right of the Account details screen to navigate to Set exchange currency.
Once complete, your Bre-B key is ready to share.
Who can register a Bre-B key?
Bre-B with ARQ is currently available to users registered with:
Colombian Cédula de Ciudadanía (CC)
Colombian Cédula de Extranjería (CE)
Passport (PASS)
If you registered with a different identity document, you'll see a "We need a bit more information" screen when you try to set up Bre-B. Tap Chat with support and we'll help you get set up.
Sharing your Bre-B key
From your Bre-B key screen in the Receive tab, copy your Bre-B key or tap Share details.
