Top up my account with Colombian pesos (COP)

Step by step to add balance to your account using pesos.

Adding balance to your ARQ account using Colombian Pesos (COP) is a simple and fast process with no fees. Your pesos will automatically convert to digital dollars / euros at the best exchange rate available, which you can always check in the app.

You can add balance via Bre-B, PSE, Botón Bancolombia, or Nequi.

Note: Bre-B is available on app version 7.8 and above. Please update your app if you don't see this feature yet.

Steps to top-up your account with Colombian pesos

  1. Tap on the "Add" button from the home screen

    1. Open ARQ and tap the Add button on the home screen to start the process.

  2. Choose the "🇨🇴Pesos" method

    1. Choose the Pesos option.

  3. Select your top-up method: Bre-B, PSE, Botón Bancolombia, Nequi

Top-up via Bre-B

Bre-B is Colombia's instant payment system, operated by Banco de la República. It lets you receive money 24/7 (including weekends and holidays) from any participating bank in Colombia. Your pesos will automatically convert to digital dollars (USDc) or digital euros (EURc) based on the exchange currency you choose.

First time? Set up your Bre-B key

Before you can receive Bre-B transfers, you need to create a Bre-B key — your unique identifier in the Bre-B system. Each ARQ account can have one Bre-B key, and once created it cannot be changed, so choose carefully.

  1. Tap Get started on the Bre-B intro screen.

  2. Choose your Bre-B key. ARQ will suggest possible keys based on your profile. All keys are alphanumeric codes prefixed with @ARQ (for example @ARQ1234).

  3. Tap Confirm Bre-B key.

  4. Choose your exchange currency — select whether incoming COP transfers should auto-convert into USDc or EURc. You can always update your preferred exchange currency later by tapping ⋮ (the three dots) on the top right of the Account details screen to navigate to Set exchange currency.

Once your key is created, you'll see a confirmation screen and can start receiving payments.

Receiving a Bre-B transfer

  1. Share your Bre-B key with the sender. From the Receive tab, copy your Bre-B key or tap Share details

  2. The sender makes the transfer from their own bank's app using your Bre-B key.

  3. Receive your digital dollars (or euros). The pesos will be instantly converted and reflected in your ARQ balance.

Note:

  • Bre-B transfers are immediate and final. If a sender sends a transfer to the wrong Bre-B key, ARQ cannot reverse it — they'll need to contact the recipient directly to request a return.

  • The sender may see SU ARQ Finance or Supra Negocios SAS as the recipient name, and Movii as the receiving bank — this is normal and your funds will be credited to your ARQ balance as usual.

Top-up via PSE

Note: When completing a PSE top-up, the recipient name may appear as Novatec Colombia SA or Pexto Capital S.A.S. — this is the local entity that processes PSE transactions on ARQ's behalf — completely safe to proceed.

  1. Enter the amount to top-up and currency to top-up in (digital dollars / euros)

    1. After you enter the amount, you must specify which bank you want to use for the top-up.

    2. After tapping the Complete Payment button, you will be redirected to PSE to finalize the debit. There, you will need to authenticate using your bank account.

  2. Receive your digital dollars / euros

    1. Once the top-up is completed, the digital dollars / euros will be instantly reflected in your ARQ balance.

Top-up via Botón Bancolombia

  1. Enter the amount to top-up and currency to top-up in (digital dollars / euros)

    1. After tapping the Complete Payment button, you will be redirected to Bancolombia to finalize the debit. There, you will need to authenticate using your bank account.

  2. Receive your digital dollars / euros

    1. Once the top-up is completed, the digital dollars / euros will be instantly reflected in your ARQ balance.

Top-up via Nequi

  1. Enter the amount to top-up and currency to top-up in (digital dollars / euros)

    1. After tapping the Complete Payment button, open your Nequi app to complete the payment. There, you will need to authenticate using your account.

  2. Receive your digital dollars / euros

    1. Once the top-up is completed, the digital dollars / euros will be instantly reflected in your ARQ balance.

Didn't receive the Nequi notification? This can sometimes happen due to a temporary issue with Nequi. If it keeps happening, it may be because the phone number on your Nequi account doesn't match the one registered on your ARQ account — this is common if you signed up with a non-Colombian number. Contact us via in-app support to link your Nequi account for top-up.

How long does the top-up take?

  • Bre-B: The balance is typically credited instantly.

  • PSE, Botón Bancolombia, Nequi: Typically credited instantly or within a few minutes.

  • If there is any delay or issue, we are here to assist you.

Why am I seeing a "We need a bit more information" error?

To use Bre-B, PSE, Nequi, or Botón Bancolombia, you need a valid Colombian identity document or any international passport registered on your account. The accepted document types for Bre-B are Cédula de Ciudadanía (CC), Cédula de Extranjería (CE), or passport.
