How does ARQ operate crypto operations in Argentina?
ARQ is registered with the Comisión Nacional de Valores (CNV) as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (PSAV, registration N°92). The registered entity is a branch of Pier 5, S.A. de C.V., operating under the name DolarApp México S.A. de C.V. – SSE.
What services does the branch provide?
The branch's activity in Argentina covers fiat-to-crypto and crypto-to-fiat transactions — for example, when you fund your account in Argentine pesos or US dollars and convert to digital assets, or when you convert digital assets back to local currency for withdrawal. In accordance with Decree 475/2026, there is an exemption for the debits and credits tax for transactions carried out through these accounts.
Does the branch handle everything on its own?
No. As permitted by applicable CNV regulations, the branch has entered into agreements with related companies for the custody of digital assets and certain operational and technology functions. These services are not provided in Argentina.
