Can I set up automatic debits from my ARQ account?

What you need to know about automatic debits (ACH pulls) in your account

No. ARQ accounts do not allow payments via ACH direct debits (also known as "pull ACH").

This means that it is not possible for a third party to debit funds directly from your account, even if you share your account number and routing number.

When might this problem occur?

This type of situation usually arises when:

  • You attempt to pay for services such as government platforms or financial institutions that make scheduled withdrawals from a bank account.

  • You register your account for automatic tax payments.

  • You link your account to providers or services that use direct debits as a payment method (e.g., insurance, automatic billing, government agencies, etc.).

In these cases, the debit attempt will fail, even if the account has sufficient funds.

What to do instead?

If you need to make payments to these types of institutions or services, we recommend that you send an ACH bank transfer from your ARQ account to the provider's account.
