Brazilian fixed income is available to all ARQ users with a Brazilian account and tax residency in Brazil.
To start investing, you need to setup your local brokerage account. This is a one-time step that shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. You can create your account by tapping the 'Buy' button on any fixed income asset.
Before you start: turn off BC+
BC+ (BC Protege+) is a Central Bank of Brazil feature that blocks new relationships with financial institutions in your name. It's a security tool, but while it's active we can't open your investment account – so you'll need to turn it off before you start. You can turn it back on afterwards. To deactivate it:
Log in to your Gov.br account.
In the side menu or on the main page, select 'BC PROTEGE+'.
Go to 'Accounts' > 'opening and inclusion' and deactivate the protection.
Choose how long the protection stays off and confirm.
What information is required?
The CVM requires the following information to set up your local brokerage account:
Identity verification (ID document and selfie)
Place of birth
Your mother's full name
If employed, your employer's CNPJ
If married, your spouse's name and CPF
You also need to answer a short suitability questionnaire. The resulting risk profile won't restrict which assets are available to you.
Once you've submitted everything, activation usually takes a few minutes, and up to one business day. If your account is still under review longer than that, contact support.
