What is our crypto offering?
With ARQ, you can buy, sell, and hold cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum directly in the ARQ app alongside your digital dollars, cards, and investments. You can buy and sell 24/7, including weekends.
Note on risk: Crypto prices are highly volatile. The value of your crypto can go down as well as up, and you could lose the full amount you invest. Only invest what you're comfortable putting at risk.
How is ARQ Crypto different from my USDc / EURc balance?
Your USDc and EURc balances are stablecoins - digital assets designed to track the US dollar and the euro. ARQ Crypto is for non-stable cryptocurrencies (e.g. BTC, ETH), whose prices move freely with the market. Your USDc balance stays where it is today, whereas your crypto holdings appear in the Invest tab under My portfolio.

If you already invest in stocks or ETFs with ARQ:
Either click the search bar, the crypto button below “Stocks and ETFs” or the “Invest” button right under your balance. From all 3 you will be able to pick a crypto asset
Enter the amount you want to buy
Choose the wallet you want to fund from - your purchase is funded from cash within your ARQ account
Review the order
Tap Confirm
You must be 18+ and have a fully verified ARQ account.

Who provides ARQ's crypto services, and how is it regulated?
ARQ partners with leading, regulated institutions for trade execution and uses institutional-grade custody infrastructure to secure your assets. Crypto assets are not legal tender and are not protected by banking deposit guarantees.

How do I buy crypto?
Open the Invest tab and tap on the Invest Button (the green button at the top)
Tap on Crypto and browse, or search directly for the cryptocurrency you want to buy
Enter the amount you want to buy
Choose the wallet you want to fund from - your purchase is funded from cash within your ARQ account
Review the order
Tap Confirm
How do I sell crypto?
Open the Invest tab, go into My portfolio and then select Crypto
Select the asset and tap Sell
Enter the amount you want to sell
Review the order and tap Confirm
What fees apply to crypto trades?
You pay one flat fee per trade: 0.30% for Standard accounts, 0.20% for Premium, and 0.15% for Prestige. There is a minimum fee of $0.01 per trade. There are no hidden spreads or markups.
When can I trade?
Crypto markets never close. You can buy and sell 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays.
Are there limits on how much I can trade?
There are no limits on how much crypto you can invest or trade.
Sending and receiving crypto
Can I send my crypto to an external wallet, or receive crypto from one?
Right now, crypto you buy with ARQ is held safely in your ARQ account - you can buy, sell, and track it in the app, but you can't transfer it to or from external wallets or other platforms. To move value out, simply sell your crypto and your funds are back in your ARQ balance.
We are aiming to make this available in the future!
Safety and custody
How do I know ARQ actually holds my crypto?
Every unit of crypto you see in your app is backed one-to-one by real crypto held in custody. When you buy 0.5 BTC, we buy and hold 0.5 BTC - we never sell you crypto we don't hold. It's yours. Your crypto is your property, held on your behalf and segregated from ARQ's own assets. The total we hold in custody always matches the total shown across all customer accounts.
Is my crypto protected or insured?
Crypto assets are not covered by bank deposit guarantees, SIPC, or the FGC - protections that apply to some of your other ARQ products do not apply here. This is why we recommend investing only what you can afford to lose.
