A portfolio transfer lets you move your US stocks and ETFs from Vest directly into your ARQ account, without needing to sell and repurchase. Your positions transfer as-is through the DTCC (the US central securities depository) via an ACATS transfer.
Key things to know before starting
The tax ID must match between your ARQ and Vest account
Options and mutual funds can't be transferred
Stocks trading in OTC markets can't be transferred, only those trading in NYSE and NASDAQ
Vest charges a US$65 fee to transfer your investments out
Where to find your Vest account number
1. Open the Vest app and tap your profile icon (your initials) in the top-left corner.
2. Tap "Account settings"
3. Find your account number at the top, next to "Account number." It starts with "SFZP". Tap the copy icon to copy it.
How to start the transfer to ARQ
Open your Trade account. Select the option to move your investment portfolio.
Choose Vest as your broker and enter the account number you found above.
Submit. Transfers can take up to 5 business days and can't be cancelled once submitted.
