How to move your investments from Schwab to ARQ

Move your US stocks and ETFs from Schwab without selling

A portfolio transfer lets you move your US stocks and ETFs from Schwab directly into your ARQ account, without needing to sell and repurchase. Your positions transfer as-is through the DTCC (the US central securities depository) via an ACATS transfer.

Key things to know before starting

  • The tax ID must match between your ARQ and Schwab account

  • Options and mutual funds can't be transferred

  • Stocks trading in OTC markets can't be transferred, only those trading in NYSE and NASDAQ

Where to find your Schwab account number

Schwab shows your account number on your account statement.

1. Open the Schwab app and tap "More" in the bottom-right corner.

2. Tap "Statements"

3. Tap the most recent Brokerage Account statement to open it.

4. Find your account number at the top of the statement, next to "Account Number."

How to start the transfer to ARQ

  1. Open your Trade account. Select the option to move your investment portfolio.

  2. Choose Schwab as your broker and enter the account number you found above.

  3. Submit. Transfers can take up to 5 business days and can't be cancelled once submitted.
